Project Share - Stocking Punch Creations

When is a Christmas card, not a Christmas card?  When you take elements traditionally used for Christmas, and turn them into something else completely. I decided for this particular swap, that I would make my 5 cards with my new stocking builder punch, and the coordinating stamp set - instead of what I'd normally do by making 5 completely different cards with different supplies.

I wanted to show the versatility of this dynamic duo and make some "all occasion" cards with it.

As you can see here, my first card was a wedding card - I've stamped "Mr." and "Mrs." on the cuff of the stocking, and congratulations on the bottom - of course I couldn't resist adding just a little bit of bling. :)

For the second card I made a single stocking, and used the sentiment "Cheers way to go!".  The embellishments are simple in that I used coordinating baker's twine around the stocking, and used one of my favorite Sizzix Embossing folders.

My thought on this one was one of a parent of a new baby adding another stocking around the tree and I took a bit of a cheeky approach to it. (But that's just me :) )

For the third card, I made a pair of melon mambo socks, and tied them with ribbon, and used the sentiment Happy Father's Day.  I ticket punched the corners, popped up the stockings, but otherwise kept it simple.

I have really been enjoying my Sizzix embossing folders, so it's not surprise that for my 4th card I went back to the Embossing folders and used the striped one for my background.  This time I used my favorite - Rich Razzleberry for the socks and used the caption "Welcome Baby" one our In Color paper to create a cute baby card, adding just a little bit of bling to the scallop tag at the bottom.

I hadn't anticipated how well the rich razzleberry would stand out on the pool party background - I will definitely use this combination again!

Last but not least, I made a Christmas card because I just couldn't see using the stocking punch and NOT making a Christmas card.

I did one stocking in Real Red, and one in Old Olive, and used our new Sizzix Embossing Template from the holiday mini to "quilt" the tops of the stockings before adding a little bling.

I have a friend and colleague who has often been teased about her love of pop-dots and always wanting to pop things up; lately I find myself looking for ways to add just a little bling or pizazz as it were to my cards.

I'm also finding myself gravitating towards my ticket punch for my card corners a lot lately.

I sponge stamped around the tag, and opted to leave the bling to the stockings and not the tag.

So.. there you have it..  my 5 entries to our team swap! I hope you got a little inspiration from them to use in your upcoming projects :)

I haven't yet received the rest of the cards back but I will certainly share a selection of those when they arrive back home.

If you'd like to play with the stocking punch and stamp set drop me a message and we'll set something up.

It's not too early to book a Christmas card workshop for you and your friends! Call me or
e-mail me to secure your date.

Project Share - Hope Happens

In keeping with my plan to work on making use of my amassed collection of stamps and toys that haven't been played with to their full potential lately, as well as clearing out some of my no-longer-current stash, I thought I'd get myself back on track working on my Stashbuster challenges.

You may recognize our Support Ribbon, that is still in our current catalog,  but I've paired it with one of the beloved sentiments from the retired "Hope Happens" stamp set.
This card also features one of our versatile (and still current) embossing templates and of course no card would be complete without the dazzle of just a little bit of "Bling"..

I also used pop-dots to pop up the tag on the card.

On the inside, I cropped a piece of whisper white card stock to 1/2" smaller than the card itself and used the ticket corners on all 4 corners before stamping a single Real Rose ribbon on the right hand corner.

Have you made a Cancer support card for a friend or loved one? I'd love to see it - Leave me a comment with a link to your card :)

ScrapNStamp - Question of the Day...What's Your Favorite...

Hey ScrapNStampers!

I've been looking through my catalog and mini quite a bit over the last few days trying to decide what to put next on my list.  I've been told that I need to come up with a birthday wish list to submit to my teddybear..   What? Cash wasn't good enough?  ROFL  Alright.. fair enough..

Thought I'd throw out a question to the crowd. Leave a comment for me here, or on my FB page and I'll enter your name in a bonus draw..   haven't decided what to raffle off yet.. but you won't be disappointed. :)

What's your favorite product in the holiday Mini?

For me, so far it's the combination of the stocking punch and stamps (so far), but I'm really loving the Stocking die also.  Really close call there.

What's your favorite Stampin' Up! product to date?

This one changes for me every so often, and now that I have made it a point to go back and re-visit some of the toys I love that I haven't visited in a while - even more so.

For a long time it was my embossing gun and embossing powders,  but then I got t a point where I had done so much of that I had to put it away for a while.   Then I really liked the pastels (well I still do)  but lately my most favorite toy is the sizzix embossing templates for the Big Shot.  I was so excited a couple of months ago to order the last few that I didn't have so now I can really mix it up and have a good time with it.

So what's YOUR favorite toy, tool or stamp set?  I'd love to know..

So leave me a comment :)

Happy World Card Making Day!   Hope that you got to spend at least a little of it playing with your paper, stamps and ink :)

I hosted a vendor fair today in support of our local Food Bank.  It was great to see so many people come out in support of such a worthwhile cause.  We raised over $500 for the Food Bank as well as a pretty good collection of non-perishable food items.  Certainly nothing to sneeze at!

I got home tonight and wanted to see what Stampin' Up! had in store for us today.  Boy do those Stampin' Up! peeps know how to spoil us rotten!!   Get a Load of this BIG SHOT deal!!

When you buy the Demonstrator kit - also known as the "I Want It All Kit' during the month of October, you will earn the Big Shot absolutely FREE - or if you already have the big shot, you can order $125 in products instead.  WOW.

Our Demonstrator Kit is regularly an awesome deal - but this is just TOO MUCH!  Your $215 kit, gets you $465 normally, and with this extra bonus this offer is NOT TO BE MISSED!

You don't have to be a demonstrator to cash in on this deal - in fact some of my best customers have at one time bought the kit.  Some buy the kit for the benefit of the discount on toys, and that's where it ends.  Others buy the kit and sign on as a "hobby demonstrator", buying only for themselves (and perhaps a few family or friends) to just support their own habit;  and finally we have those that want it all, and want to share it as a full blown demonstrator.  Whatever your reason for buying the kit,  I'd be happy to help you.

All members of my downline team and ScrapNStamp family get extra perks and bonuses.  I offer team training and support, and all of my team members save on fees for any class that they attend. (Excluding Club Nights).

Sign on as a demonstrator during this Big Shot promotion and I will give you an Introduction to the Big Shot class, giving you a sampling of the wonderful world of the Big Shot.  Ask me for more info!

They've also put out a Simply Sent Kit bonus - Buy 2 and get a corresponding stamp set FREE.

I just love being a part of the Stampin' Up! family, there's always something new and wonderful coming up to keep us inspired.  I just love having another reason to celebrate this month!

If you know you want to sign up, feel free to visit my website and order at your leisure!  If you're thinking about it, and would like more information feel free to give me a shout.  Perhaps a date to Play-test our toys and tools is just what the doctor ordered.  I'd be happy to let you check out my Big Shot, and all of the dies, texture plates, and templates that I have in my collection.

Let me know if I can help you with placing an order, or submitting a kit order - If you have any questions, you know where to find me.

Countdown to Thanksgiving is underway.. or as we have called it our family for years.. TURKEY DAZE!

This year in addition to the family birthdays that always live there, we also have a wedding.  Our nephew - the eldest of all the kids in my hubby's family is getting married to his sweetheart.  It plans to be a busy weekend, but I can't wait to see the bride in all her beauty..    and you just KNOW there will be scrapbook pages.. :)

Until next time  :)
